Many of us know how frustrating Porch Pirates can be. It’s estimated that 23 million Americans have had a package stolen from their front door.
At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, 1AHEAD Technologies unveiled a new home entry and package security system called GLO. From first glance, it may look similar to every other doorbell on the market, but GLO adds some new twists.
It uses artificial intelligence, so when you approach, it will greet you and recognize your response for various tasks. GLO was designed with commerce in mind, making it perfect for the home or business that receives package deliveries.
It has the ability to scan a package label, and then open a mailbox or smart box where the package could be left securely.
The GLO system uses a patented artificial intelligence driven device called V.A.L.T., which stands for Virtual Access Logistics Technology. 1Ahead founder, Ron Carter, says that V.A.L.T. was actually designed to retire other doorbells on the market because of the advanced AI technology.
In addition to the AI, GLO has a virtual key that actually allows you to create a key using an image or a photo on your phone. If you’re ready to take your home security to the next level, GLO interfaces with drones and robots for experience not found anywhere else.
The GLO system with VALT is expected in stores this summer. It will retail for about $269.
