We all look forward to summer vacations. What we don’t look forward to, is battling the bulge that inevitably shows up after several days of sleeping-in, overeating and skipping the gym. Fortunately, there are some easy ways to practice healthy habits on-the-go.
Jesse Llapitan, the Executive Chef at San Francisco’s legendary Palace Hotel, told California Life you don’t have to sacrifice flavor for nutrition.
“Parmesan, you’d think, parmesan there’s a lot of fat and so forth, but parmesan is actually quite good for you. They say ounce per ounce, parmesan has more protein than meat does.”
Llapitan said you also shouldn’t be afraid to ask for healthier options, even if they’re not listed on the menu.
Of course, dieting alone isn’t enough to keep your waistline in line. You also need to exercise. Many hotels have fitness centers, but not all. Fortunately, there are a number of apps available that can help you find ways to exercise anywhere–in a hotel room, standing in line, or even on a plane!
