Travel about an hour-and-a-half north of the Golden Gate Bridge and you’ll find the area deemed “America’s Greenest Wine Region.”
Mendocino Wine Country is home to 570 vineyards and over 20-percent of Mendocino County’s winegrapes are certified organic. The first U.S. winery to be certified carbon neutral, Parducci Wine Cellars, is also located in Mendocino.
Winemaking has been a tradition in Mendocino County since the first Italian immigrants settled there. Now, there are 108 wineries in the area.
