Did you know that February is American Heart Month? Taking care of your heart can be done in many ways, but one important way is through eating heart-healthy foods.
Coast to Coast is joined by Registered Dietician, Marina Chaparro, who is teaming up with Mazola to share some heart-healthy recipes!
While most people would think to avoid fats at all costs to reduce cholesterol, Chaparro reminds us that is not always the case.
“We want to add more healthy fats, and research shows us that when we consume more poly-unsaturated fatty acids, which are the ones that we can find in Mazola corn oil, it can actually help reduce LDL-cholesterol,” she explains.
Chaparro wants people to know that they can eat the foods they like and still live their lives. She shares her mission as a Latina registered dietician, which is to change the narrative about how we view food and nutrition.
She wants people to know that they can still enjoy their favorite foods without sacrificing their heart health with Mazola corn oil!
