More than 8 in 10 hotels were forced to lay off or furlough workers due to the pandemic and the resulting historic drop in travel demand. Only 37 percent have been able to rehire or return employees through economic relief measures such as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

TOPLINE: Majority of hotels don’t expect return to pre-COVID staffing until 2021
When asked when they expect to return to pre-COVID staffing levels, 52 percent of hotels said they don’t expect their staffing levels to be fully restored until at least the end of the year.
