New Prequel to the Kingsman Franchise- The King’s Man (2021)

Ralph Fiennes isn’t usually known as an action hero but he’s leading an interesting cast of characters in The King’s Man.

The Oscar Nominee stars as Lord Oxford, a member of the British aristocracy, who is a witness to much of world history.

His son, Conrad, played by Harris Dickinson, has received a gentleman’s training in self-defense but longs to be part of the action- especially as what will later be known as World War I approaches.

Unbeknownst to the good guys- there is an equally bad guy who has assembled a team of diabolical allies including Rhys Ifans– (our favorite actor from Notting Hill!)- as the mad monk Rasputin.

As you probably guessed, The King’s Man is a prequel to the extremely popular Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)– that film made more than 400 million dollars worldwide as did its follow-up Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

While this film has rewritten quite a bit of history and contains a lot of the cartoonish action of its forebears, it seems to have an anti-war and anti-violence message.
