The team at HighSpeedInternet.com surveyed 500 people for their opinions on phone calls in 2020. They then analyzed the results and compiled this report.
Since many of us are shifting our usual work environments to working from home, telecommuting and phone usage is on the rise more than ever. T-Mobile reported the amount of time spent on phone calls increased in March by 17%, and texting increased by 26%. We can all agree that technology obviously has its positives and negatives, but especially in trying times, we can learn to appreciate all that cell phones have to offer. However, HighSpeedInternet.com conducted their own study to see how different generations feel about phone calls, texting, and other forms of communication via cell phones.

- 88% of millennials prefer texting over calling.
- 52% of millennials say they feel anxious taking a phone call, versus only 23% of boomers.
- 50% of millennials have asked their parents to call and make an appointment for them.
- 60% of Gen Zers and millennials say they hate calling people. Americans over 35 say they don’t mind.
Based on this study, it looks like millennials need to become more comfortable with taking phone calls. Lucky for them, they still have time to (hopefully) grow from it.
