1. Cars Land Gets a Spooky Makeover
For the first time ever, Cars Land joins in on the Halloween festivities, transforming Radiator Springs into “Radiator Screams”. The streets are lined with spooky decorations, and the residents of Radiator Springs are ready to celebrate the season. Mater dresses as a “band tire,” Lightning McQueen becomes a superhero, and there’s even a terrifying “scare car” for those looking for a good fright.

If you’re craving a real scare, don’t miss out on “Monsters After Dark” at Disney California Adventure. The once-gentle Guardians of the Galaxy ride turns into a darker, more spine-chilling version of the attraction, with a brand new storyline and a special Halloween-themed song.

2. Haunted Attractions at Disneyland
Halloween brings a haunting vibe to some classic attractions at Disneyland. “Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy” gives the classic space adventure a spooky twist, and “Haunted Mansion Holiday” is decked out in all things Nightmare Before Christmas. Plus, don’t forget to check out the “Pumpkin Festival” on Main Street, which is packed with festive decorations and delicious pumpkin-inspired treats.

3. Ghosts of the Hotel Del Coronado
For those looking to mix Halloween with a touch of history, the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego has its own ghost story. In 1892, a young woman named Kate Morgan checked into the hotel and tragically took her life after waiting for a lover who never arrived. To this day, guests have reported eerie occurrences, from flickering TVs to mysterious breezes. If you’re brave enough, room 3327, once room 302, remains a hotspot for ghostly activity.

4. Spooky Fun Aboard the Queen Mary
Another eerie destination in California is the Queen Mary, which is known for its haunted history. In 1966, a tragic accident involving a fireman led to paranormal sightings in the engine room. Guests have reported seeing the ghost of the young man, and there are even accounts of a mischievous little girl who haunts the ship’s pool area. With ghost tours available, you can experience the creepy atmosphere firsthand.

5. Halloween Treats at Disneyland Resort
As you wander through Disneyland, you’ll notice the delicious Halloween treats being served. From Day of the Dead apples to Jack Skellington cake pops, there’s no shortage of sweet and spooky snacks. For a fun DIY project at home, try making your own “Mickey Krispie Treats”, decorated with Halloween flair. Our resident candy maker, Rob McCar, shows us how to create a colorful Mickey Krispie treat with white chocolate, vibrant candies, and plenty of Halloween spirit.

6. Celebrate Día de los Muertos with Coco
This Halloween season, Disneyland celebrates “Día de los Muertos” with a beautiful tribute to family bonds, inspired by the Disney-Pixar film Coco. The event honors the everlasting connections we share with loved ones who have passed on. The vibrant celebration features colorful decorations, an immersive atmosphere, and a heartwarming message of remembrance.
