The Shops at Montebello, managed by Southern California-based Pacific Retail Capital Partners, hosted a Chalk-For-A-Cause event on Friday, May 22nd and Saturday, May 23rd, in partnership with the City of Montebello. The event raised $4,500 to benefit the Montebello-Commerce YMCA, a community-focused non-profit with recreational programs and services for all ages. For a $30 donation, registrants received an assigned parking space and time frame to complete a design, a bucket of chalk and a roll of painter’s tape.

Mayor Salvador Melendez, Mayor Pro Tem Kimberly Ann Cobos-Cawthorne and Councilmembers Angie Jimenez, David Torres, and Jack Hadjinian also came out to show support.
“The theme of our Chalk-For-A-Cause event this year was ‘Come Together,’” said Marina Satoafaiga, Marketing and Business Development Manager at The Shops at Montebello. “Especially as we all navigate the county’s Safer at Home order, we were so happy to provide an opportunity for residents to safely share colorful and creative messages of hope and positivity while also contributing to an amazing cause. Montebello-YMCA hosts bi-weekly ‘grab and go’ meal distribution, which continues to be so impactful for our community.”
