History was made as the second and third generations of the Mondavi family came together to host the largest wine dinner in the world. California Life’s Monique Soltani of WineOh.TV attended the event and spoke with both the Robert and Peter Mondavi families about what made them decide to blend.
The event redefined dining as 1,500 guests from across the country took a seat at the worlds largest wine dinner and the next generation of Mondavi’s auctioned off their one-of-a-kind wine. Despite the families previous feud, the nation was able to witness one of the wine world’s most famous families reunited.
“There was a disagreement between our fathers that goes way way back and was buried probably 15 years ago. As kids, we hadn’t really had an opportunity to do something together so this is a perfect opportunity and it’s for a great cause,” said Mark Mondavi, Vice President of the Charles Krug Winery.
Once it was all said and done, the night brought in over one hundred thousand dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation – proving when you ‘make a wish’ and the stars align, dreams really can come true.
