A Scenic Getaway to Monterey
Our journey began with a virtual trip to the beautiful Carmel and Monterey on California’s Central Coast. Heather Dawson highlighted Monterey as a scenic getaway with a rich history. Conveniently located about 5 hours north of Los Angeles and 2 hours south of San Francisco, the Central Coast boasts magnificent views along the winding Highway 1, the gateway to Monterey.
For those planning a trip, Monterey is not just about the views. It’s just minutes away from the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium and other top attractions. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the aquarium has connected millions with ocean conservation, thanks to its unique location right on Monterey Bay.
Whether you’re a nature lover interested in kayaking or paddleboarding, or just looking for a relaxing getaway, Monterey has something for everyone. Summer and fall are particularly beautiful, but as Heather notes, it’s never a bad time to visit Monterey County. For more information, check out SeeMonterey.com.
Spotlight on Independent Film: The Italians
Next, Coast to Coast shone a light on the independent film scene with an interview featuring Michelle Danner, a longtime acting coach, producer, director, and actress. Julia Lund from Coast to Coast TV spoke with Danner about her upcoming comedy, The Italians, which she directed, produced, and stars in.
The film centers around the chaos that ensues when the son of an Italian-American family brings home his girlfriend of nine months without telling his parents – a girlfriend who turns out to be the matriarch’s worst nightmare. The wonderful cast includes Matthew Daddario, Rob Estes, David Duzs, Lainie Kazan, Abigail Breslin, and Perry Reeves.
Mark your calendars! The Italians will be released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on April 11th, followed shortly on other platforms like Apple TV and Google TV.
