A new era of luxury swimwear is here. California Life’s Esabel Sadek speaks to Co-founder of eco-friendly swimwear brand, Andrea Bernholtz. While she’s well-known for her success in Rock & Republic, Bernholtz’s inspiration to create sustainable, comfortable, eco-friendly swimwear is now here with her new brand Swiminsta. She let’s us in on some of the hottest swimsuit trends for the Summer of 2020 and her new collection out now.

The biggest sellers come from bra-style swimsuits with built-in underwire that come with hidden components. One of the latest designs Bernholtz goes over is with the high-waisted design which puts emphasis on the stomach controlling and its retro throwback theme. Following that up is a one-piece called ‘Cheer’ which focuses more on adjustability while maintaining its appeal and style. Finally, Bernholtz shows off her ‘smart-bottom’ design which rounds out the wearer’s buttocks. 

Bernholtz’s reason in doing Swiminista attributes to her goal in finding the best bathing suit based on her inspirations during a trip to Mexico. Adding on to this statement is her knowledge of manufacturing and creative approach to designing swimsuits; all of which attributes to her love of fashion and swimming.
