Notice how elements have been taken from several of his highly stylised films, with nods to the melancholic Edward Scissorhands and a distinct floor pattern inspired by Beetlejuice. Inspired by the homely and traditional Japanese architecture seen in many Studio Ghibli films, including My Neighbor Totoro, this office space evokes a sense of relaxation and tranquillity. It features the character ‘No Face’, also known as Kaonashi, from his movie Spirited Away. Can you spot it?
Inspired by two of his greatest movies – Space Odyssey 2001 and The Shining – this office space features key visual elements such as a sinister and iconic pattern from The Shining, and the juxtaposition of classical sculptures against futuristic elements. Check out the monolith at the front of the room, as featured at the start of Space Odyssey 2001.
Inspired by his distinctive style that merges the worlds of monsters and comic books, this office could be part of a science lab. Taking elements from The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy, notice that this office has an industrial touch, with metal bookshelves and ceiling lamps.
It’s showtime! This office space was inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s lavish and theatrical style. From Moulin Rouge to The Great Gatsby, this office features distinct visual elements such as a red colour palette and lighting reminiscent of early-20th Century theatres.
