A recent National Association of Homebuilders survey revealed that 69% of its members were already experiencing delays in completing projects on time due to a shortage of qualified workers.
This really affects everyone from carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC techs. Matt Risinger is a professional contractor working to help strengthen construction skilled trades. Lowe’s and about 60 other partners started a movement called Generation T . This is a movement that is intended to help educate young people on what a career might look like in the trades. This month hundreds of high school students got first-hand experience in the skilled trades. 300 Southern California high school students that are all involved in the SkillsUSA Carpentry Training Program built a hundred bunk beds for an organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
