The Croatian National Tourist Board has launched a landmark short film — Croatia – I Hear It’s
Beautiful — produced in collaboration with Academy Award nominee John Malkovich and 45-time
Emmy Award-winning producer Pete Radovich. This is not conventional destination marketing. It is
a cinematic travel experience — paced, scored, and composed like a film — designed to make
audiences feel Croatia before they visit it.
John Malkovich shines in this role – delivering in a way never seen before! It’s heartfelt, important, and a beautiful story of cultural emergence and learning.

Why This Film Is Different
Traditional destination marketing shows a place. This film invites viewers into one. The distinction
matters:
- Hollywood-caliber production. The film was made to the standard of a cinematic short, not
a tourism ad. High production value drives higher viewer retention and emotional impact. - Narrative-driven storytelling. Rather than a sequence of scenic highlights, the film follows
an emotional arc — giving viewers a reason to keep watching and a feeling to carry forward. - John Malkovich as a reflective presence. Rather than serving as a conventional narrator,
Malkovich appears as a curious, thoughtful traveler — a voice that is personal and emotionally
resonant rather than promotional. - Beyond Dubrovnik. The film consciously expands Croatia’s story beyond its most famous
landmarks, showcasing a wide national footprint that reflects the true breadth of the
destination. - Designed for conversion. Available in both a full cinematic version (6:21) and a short teaser
(1:04), the content is optimized for use at multiple stages of the traveler decision journey.
