Odyssey Impact, a leading faith-based, social impact and Peabody award-winning organization has announced its compelling online series, “Healing The Healers,” has received a Gold Award at the 41stAnnual Telly Awards in the Documentary Series: Online category. The Telly Awards is recognized as the world’s largest honor for video and television content across all screens.

Healing The Healers“ is a new media resource intended to support clergy, laity, social workers, first responders and other spiritual care providers facing community-level trauma. The five-part film series is accompanied by a discussion guide including written reflections by scholars, clergy and other experts. In the series, Reverend Matthew Crebbin of Newtown Congregational Church, leads an important conversation with faith leaders who’ve experienced mass trauma, either suddenly, at Newtown, during 9/11, or through ministering to a community facing chronic violence, such as Hartford, CT or St. Louis, MO.

Reverend Crebbin’s life, along with those of his family, his congregation, and everyone in the town, was changed by the horrifying shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. His mission continues to both learn about and better understand the mid-to-long term effects of such traumas on faith leaders who, like him, have gone through such an experience, and to help educate and prepare other faith and community leaders, who may be faced with such events in the future. See the “Healing The Healers” Trailer here.

“Healing The Healers” was produced and directed by Kirsten Kelly, with Jennifer Cox serving as Director of Photography and Editor, and Michelle Budnick as Line Producer. Nick Stuart and CarolAnne Dolan are Executive Producers of the series. Melissa C. Potter oversees the accompanying social impact campaign as Head of Social Impact and Communications.
