Skyspace, an ultra-contemporary home with an immersive art-and-sensory experience, is for sale in Las Vegas at $10.5 million. Located on the Bear’s Best Las Vegas golf course, an 18-hole collection chosen from the best of Jack Nicklaus’s 270 worldwide course designs, Skyspace was created by the owners in coordination with the architecture firm Marmol Radziner, builder Jack Raftery and artist James Turrell. Composed almost entirely of glass, steel and concrete on 1.5 acres inside a guard-gated community at the base of Red Rock Canyon, Skyscape has unobstructed panoramic views of the Nicklaus golf course, city lights and surrounding mountains.
At 13,000 square feet, the home is one of only two homes designed by Marmol Radziner in southern Nevada and includes four bedroom suites in the main house, a detached one-bedroom guest house, eight baths, and a multitude of amenities including a subterranean half-basketball court, fitness room, office space, movie theater and expansive wine cellar. The home’s indoor-outdoor design integrates the desert landscape with bamboo-and-pine trees into the main living spaces and floor-to-ceiling glass walls in nearly every room.
The unique detached formal dining room appears as if it is suspended over the edge of the property and features three completely glass-enclosed walls. A Scavolini Italian kitchen is surrounded by large windows and the master suite features a modern bathroom with a centered oversized tub. The home’s outdoor amenities include a private terrace with a Zen garden, jacuzzi, cold plunge and a courtyard with an outdoor kitchen, surround-sound audio system and a pool that overlooks the golf course. There is also a climate-controlled garage hidden from view and walking paths leading to the guest house, dining room, art installation and gardens.
Skyscape’s most unique feature is the home’s lighting display created by artist James Turrell. According to the listing agent, Ivan Sher, “Skyspace is an immersive art-and-sensory experience. It captures the natural light of the rising and setting sun, combines that with a sophisticated pattern of lights inside the structure and creates the illusion through its lighting that you are floating through space. It is a truly transformative experience.” Skyspace’s advanced light-technology program is available for purchase outside of the home sale.
Jim Murren, former Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International and his wife, Heather, have listed their Las Vegas estate, Skyspace, for $10.5 million. The listing agent is Ivan Sher, The Ivan Sher Group of Berkshire Hathaway, Las Vegas.
