The Galleri Classic Returns to Rancho Mirage: A Star-Studded Field Set for Battle
Presented by Spotlight 29 Casino, marking the sixth event of the season. Held at the iconic Mission Hills Country Club, this par-72, 7,165-yard course is hosting the tournament for its third year, from March 28-30, 2025.
This year’s edition boasts a loaded field featuring 79 players, including seven World Golf Hall of Fame members. Among the legends teeing it up are defending champion Retief Goosen, Ernie Els (currently second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings), Schwab Cup leader Miguel Ángel Jiménez, reigning Schwab Cup winner Steven Alker, Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, José María Olazábal, and Vijay Singh.
The strength of the field extends beyond Hall of Famers. The tournament also features 10 former winners of The American Express (formerly the Bob Hope Classic) who are competing this week, including David Duval, Chad Campbell, Fred Couples, Joe Durant, Jay Haas, Brian Gay, Justin Leonard, Corey Pavin, Mike Weir, and Mark Wilson. David Duval famously shot a final-round 59 to win in 1999.

Fred Couples, a Palm Springs resident since 1980, feels very comfortable on the Mission Hills course, noting you need to be able to “cut it, draw it, and stop it.”
Retief Goosen, defending champion, has played well here the last two years and appreciates the greens with “a lot of movement” that require imagination.
Steven Alker, who has finished runner-up in the Galleri Classic for the past two years, ranks this tournament highly in his year and hopes “third time’s a charm.”
A Look Back:
The Galleri Classic has already seen some exciting moments in its short history. David Toms set the low 54-hole score at 200 (-16) in 2023, while Ricardo Gonzalez carded the low 18-hole score of 63 in the second round of 2024.
