As one of the biggest games ever with more than 350 million players, Fortnite continues dominating the gaming world. According to data gathered by GoldenCasinoNews, the Epic Games’ megahit ranked as the leading Twitch game with 580,000 streamers as of May. With nearly 404,000 streamers in the last months, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ranked as the second most popular game on Twitch.
Fortnite`s Number of Twitch Viewers Continues Rising
Behind Fornite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Valorant ranked as the third most popular game on Twitch with approximately 385,000 streamers in May, revealed Statista data. League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive follow with 232,000 and 200,000 streamers, respectively.
Besides leading in the number of streamers, statistics show the last few months have also witnessed a surge in the number of Fortnite viewers on Twitch. In January 2020, the average number of viewers amounted to more than 72,000. In the next two months, it rose to over 89,000. However, between March and May, the average number of people watching Fornite on Twitch jumped to more than 165,000. In comparison, the online battle royale game hit a record in July 2018 with around 205,000 average Twitch viewers.
Moreover, Statista data showed that the online multiplayer game hit over 623,000 peak viewers on Twitch in the last month.
More than 122 Million Hours Watched on Twitch in May
Statistics indicate the last few months have also witnessed a significant rise in the number of hours Fortnite fans spent watching the popular game on Twitch. In January, Twitch viewers spent a total of 53.8 million hours watching Fornite events. By the end of March, this figure jumped to 66.2 million. The upward trend continued in April, with the combined number of hours reaching 97.1 million. Statistics show Fornite fans spent a total of 122 million hours watching the Epic Games’ megahit on Twitch in May.
